Our Green Festivities

Well St. Patty's Day was fun as always. We had a blast with all of our green. To start off we all dressed up in as much green as we had in our closets. Then, Spencer went on a Shamrock Treasure Hunt for his pot of gold. He got a real kick out of it. We put on buttons and stickers saying all kids of Irish sayings. We mixed up some green cupcakes with green frosting and green sprinkles on top....yummy Spencer did his best to "speak Irish" as he calls it, and I must say that he's vastly improved. Maybe next year he'll be able to roll his r's and speak Irish fluently. We ate sweet n' sour corned beef and hash with fried cabbage and Irish sweet bread the night before. And I must say that it was tasty! I was extrememly skeptical but willing to try this new recipe my friend gave me. It is definitely a repeat. For our St. Patrick's Day feast, we had a roast, green mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, more Irish bread, and of course our green cupcakes for dessert. I found out something interesting. Both Spencer and Carter ate their mashed potatoes. All I had to do was change the color. So for Easter we're having purple taters. We also made green ice cubes the night before to put in our glasses. Spencer thought that was cool. We read Irish riddles, Irish folklore and talked Irish the whole day. All in all, it was a great St. Patrick's Day. It was so fun to see so many people dressed up in green. There were even green enthusiasts at the gym, working out in their green shirts. Hope you all had a great St. Patrick's Day. Now I'm scrambling to get ready for Easter.

You are so festive...sounds like you had a very memorable St. Patrick's Day! All we do is wear green and for Josh that only lasted until he got home from school and changed into his jammies. Glad to see some pics of you...finally! Have a good weekend.

You are darling and I have a complete crush on you! I need to start celebrating The Patty like you guys do! I need to start faking a heritage and go with it! Sorry for the lack of posts. I really will grab this the next time I need to poop! I guess I am just sick of my stories! Yours are a good welcome though. Soon. Promise

Wow! I can't believe how much effort you put in to St. Patrick's day! I love the idea of a treasure hunt...maybe I'll try that next year. We don't do anything...I did have the kids wear green, but that's about it.
