Streak's Over!

Keep in mind I'm floating on pain meds right now and I'mtyping this post one-handed.. why? you might ask, because I've broken my arm. And i thought to myself that i'd better just go all out, so i basically shattered my radius in 2 placed. At my wrist and close to my elbow. ....it all really sucks quite bad. i did it while training for my triathlon which i was supposed to do today!!!! (i'm a little upset about that part) so with some creativity i'm hoping this summer won't be a total bust! triathlon's out. tennis is quite done along with softball for at least 6 months.....i'm trying to be patient,....trying. /this happened thursday morning around 6:30. i proceeded to ride my bike home.(i realize this wasn't the brightest idea, but then again i've never done this before. got home, woke rob up, said i needed to go to the hospital, went to the hospital where after they took the x-rays, said i needed surgery on my wrist asap andthey're doing my elbow next week.
i am really grateful though. i broke my arm not my leg. and it was my left arm, not right, i was wearing my helmet, or i know i would have been knocked unconscious, my bike is okay, i'm really okay, rob has been phenomenal! if i'm asleep or forget to take my meds, he's right there holding them and some water for me. we had friends help us with the boys and i know it could have been worse.
i'll just have to do another sprint triathlon another time. i just need to be patient and heal up in the next 6 months or so. big sigh.

I still cannot believe that after you fell off your bike and broke your arm in two places that you actually got back on your bike and rode another 25 minutes home. I must be wimpy...because I totally would've just sat there crying not knowing what to do. I'm soooo sorry that this happened 2 days before your tri...especially after all of your hard training. Hang in there and there is always next year! Love you!

I love you Jen and wish you a full, speedy recovery! I'm glad that Rob is being so helpful. Hopefully your boys will be on their best behavior and not demand too much from you. Take those pain meds...rest!
