Spencer and his team, the Richland Raiders, played in the Superbowl against the Prosser Mustangs. It was a heartbreaking loss, going down by 6 points, 13-7, but the kids had such great attitudes and fought so hard, that though they lost, they ended on such a positive note. It was a tough game and things just didn't go our way. I'm sure Spencer and his teammates will be extra hungry next year though. Spence had a great year and has been fortunate to be on such a great team. His coaches are so good at teaching the kids the game and keeping it fun. He played numerous positions including receiver, safety, cornerback, backup QB, and others that unfortunately I don't even know what they're called. "Spicy Red" even played quite a bit on the line....mostly on the offense.
Rob and I enjoyed watching him play and even got a bit dressed up for the big end of the season game. Rob really got into the spirit of it all and I decided to at least paint my face. It was fun and Spencer even thought it was cool. He was impressed that Dad made his outfit and came up with the whole idea. Don't worry everyone, this is only a Superbowl thing, there will be no face paint or outfit unless one of our kids makes it to the big game! We love football and we especially love watching our boys play the game!
